COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP
& RECOGNITION
Long-term functionality and sustainability
Giving transparency to the future generations
Community Leadership & Recognition is Helping Humans’ cross-cutting pillar that strengthens the human and institutional foundations of water security and climate resilience. It builds leadership capacity, local ownership, and long-term sustainability for all field interventions through experiential learning, certification, mentorship, and community leadership development. The pillar includes RAWE (Rural Field Immersion & Experiential Learning) and the E-Recognition & Excellence program, which together create a pipeline of trained practitioners, community champions, and youth leaders committed to sustaining water, climate, and ecosystem restoration outcomes.
Objectives
- Build leadership capacity and institutional strength within communities to sustain water security, climate action, and ecosystem restoration outcomes.
- Develop a pipeline of trained practitioners, youth leaders, and community champions through experiential learning and field immersion programs.
- Strengthen long-term ownership, governance, and operation-and-maintenance systems for community water and climate assets.
- Recognize, mentor, and retain high-performing individuals and community groups contributing to environmental and climate solutions.
- Improve implementation quality, accountability, and sustainability of field interventions through leadership development and certification systems.
Climate Mitigation & Low-Carbon Development
The E-Recognition & Excellence program acknowledges and supports individuals, community leaders, youth fellows, and practitioners who demonstrate exceptional commitment to environmental conservation, water security, and climate action. Through certification, mentorship, and recognition, the program celebrates impactful work while strengthening leadership networks that drive sustainable change across communities.
Nature-Based Solutions & Biodiversity Restoration
The RAWE (Rural Field Immersion & Experiential Learning) program provides structured field-based learning opportunities for students, researchers, and practitioners interested in rural systems, water security, climate action, and ecosystem restoration. Through hands-on engagement with communities, institutions, and environmental initiatives, participants gain practical exposure to real-world sustainability challenges while contributing to meaningful development projects across rural India.
