The E-Recognition & Excellence program by Helping Humans recognizes individuals, community leaders, youth innovators, practitioners, and institutions who are making meaningful contributions to environmental sustainability, water security, ecosystem restoration, and climate resilience.
The program highlights impactful initiatives across communities and landscapes while building a network of changemakers committed to advancing sustainable development. By recognizing exemplary work and sharing success stories, the initiative aims to inspire wider participation in environmental action and strengthen leadership in sustainability across India.
Recognition under this program is open, transparent, and merit-based, ensuring that impactful work receives visibility, acknowledgement, and opportunities for collaboration.

How the Program Works
The E-Recognition & Excellence program is conducted twice each year to recognize impactful environmental initiatives across India.
Annual Cycles
Cycle 1 – Spring Recognition Cycle
- Applications open: January
- Submission deadline: March
- Evaluation and review: April
- Recognition announcement: May
Cycle 2 – Autumn Recognition Cycle
- Applications open: July
- Submission deadline: September
- Evaluation and review: October

1. Open Call for Applications and Nominations
Individuals and organizations may apply directly or be nominated by peers, institutions, or community members.
Recognition is not restricted to donors or members, and applications are free of cost for individuals.
2. Submission and Documentation
Applicants submit details of their initiative including:
- Description of the project or initiative
- Evidence of environmental impact
- Supporting documents, photographs, or reports
3. Evaluation Process
Submissions are reviewed by an evaluation panel based on:
- Environmental impact
- Innovation and scalability
- Community participation
- Long-term sustainability
4. Recognition Announcement
Selected individuals and institutions are formally recognized and featured through Helping Humans communication platforms.
What Recognition Includes
Recognized changemakers receive:
- Official Certificate of Excellence
- Feature on the Helping Humans website and digital platforms
- Inclusion in impact stories and sustainability case studies
- Opportunities to connect with environmental practitioners and institutions
- Visibility for their work across sustainability networks
- Recognition itself is completely free for individuals.
Excellence Leadership Program
Recognized leaders may choose to participate in the Excellence Leadership Program, an optional development track designed to strengthen impact and collaboration.
Program Support Includes
Participants may receive:
- Mentorship from sustainability practitioners
- Learning sessions on climate action and ecosystem restoration
- Guidance on strengthening project impact and scaling initiatives
- Opportunities to collaborate with NGOs, researchers, and institutions
- Participation in sustainability leadership forums
Participation in this optional program may involve a program fee to support mentorship and learning activities.
