Preserving Earth
Launched by Helping Humans, the Preserving Earth initiative is dedicated to protecting and restoring the Earth’s natural landscapes and ecosystems for the benefit of both people and wildlife. Through targeted projects aimed at preserving watersheds, springsheds, and other vital ecosystems, we strive to promote sustainability and safeguard our planet for future generations.
Watersheds, which channel rainfall and snowmelt into creeks, streams, and rivers, are crucial to our ecosystem. They provide essential water for consumption, irrigation, and power, support diverse wildlife and plant ecosystems, and offer valuable recreational opportunities. However, these critical systems face numerous threats, including climate change, deforestation, pollution, and overuse. Under the Preserving Earth initiative, our primary goal is to focus on the most underdeveloped landlocked regions of India and conserve 2 million hectares to enhance environmental sustainability.
Our specific objectives include:
- Conserve 10,000 springs.
- Restore catchments prone to degradation & of dying rivers.
- Enhance water storage capacity.
- Conduct decade-long awareness campaigns.
